Landry Shamet is staying in New York, and the veteran guard made sure Knicks fans knew exactly how he felt about it.
The 29-year-old has agreed a new four-year, $24 million contract to remain with the reigning NBA champions, ending months of speculation that he could move on this summer.
Rival teams had been lining up to prise the sharpshooter away once free agency opened on July 1st, with several suitors ready to test New York’s resolve. Instead, Shamet chose to stay and help the Knicks chase back-to-back titles — and his reaction to the news was priceless.

Landry Shamet’s Wolf of Wall Street response to staying with the Knicks
According to ESPN, Shamet agreed the deal with Knicks executives on Monday. His agent, George S. Langberg of GSL Sports Group, finalized the agreement, which keeps New York below the league’s second apron with 11 players now under contract.
Shamet then marked the news in style. He posted the famous Wolf of Wall Street scene to his Instagram story — the one where Leonardo DiCaprio’s character insists he is not leaving — with his own face edited over DiCaprio’s.
For good measure, the faces of teammates Karl-Anthony Towns, Jalen Brunson, OG Anunoby and Jose Alvarado were dropped into the clip too.
Shamet was a key bench piece during the title run, shooting 47.5 percent from three in the playoffs, and keeping him alongside the re-signed Alvarado means the Knicks have held onto their core so far.
The harder calls are still to come. New York are edging toward the second apron, a line owner James Dolan has insisted he will not cross, and that stance is why rival executives were circling Shamet.
Center Mitchell Robinson is the next name hanging in the balance.
For now, though, the champions have locked down a trusted shooter — and Shamet has made his feelings about it perfectly clear.
