Frank Lampard labelled Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang a ‘quality player’ after he helped Arsenal beat Chelsea 2-1 in the FA Cup final yesterday, as he told Football London.

Aubameyang netted a brilliant brace for his side, as Lampard suggested that his players struggled to cope with the striker and his threat behind Chelsea’s backline despite showing it ‘a lot’ to the players.

It was an impressive offensive display from Aubameyang, who after netting a brace in the semi-final against Manchester City, once again proved that he is a big-game player.

After the match, Lampard shared that his players were shown ‘a lot’ about Arsenal’s threat in behind, but they still managed to cause them problems.

“He scored two goals, they have a threat behind you,” said Lampard. “We showed that a lot to the players, but we let him do that. He is a quality player.”

For the Arsenal fans, they will now be hoping for more good news and their star man putting pen-to-paper on a new contract.

If that happens then it will bode well for Mikel Arteta and his quest to get Arsenal back challenging in the Premier League.

It’s quite clear that Aubameyang is happy at the Emirates Stadium, but will those in the boardroom show that they will do everything in their power to keep hold of the former Dortmund man?
