Frank Lampard is one of the best midfielders to have ever played the game, and the former West Ham United and Chelsea star’s comments about Tottenham Hotspur ace Dele Alli in midweek should encourage the North London club’s fans.

Alli has not been in the kind of form that he was last season, and there have been criticisms of the Tottenham midfielder’s lack of consistency.

Chelsea legend Lampard, though, recently pointed out about how the 21-year-old former Milton Keynes Dons star has improved and developed this campaign.

Speaking during the post-match coverage of the Champions League game between Tottenham and Juventus on Wednesday evening on BT Sport 2 (10:06pm, March 7, 2018), Lampard said about Alli: “I think this season if you are going to say one think about Dele Alli – we know that he can score goals, he was fantastic last year – now he tries to come to feet and link up quite a lot. I think he has got the athleticism to go beyond and really get into the box and hurt them.”

Alli is only 21 years of age, and it is only natural that he will have dips in his form. After all, the England international is still very young and developing, and is not the finished article yet.

What is important is that the youngster continues to improve and add more facets to his game. The kind of consistency that top footballers have will come in due time, especially as he has a very good manager in Mauricio Pochettino to work with.
