Sunderland defender Lamine Kone has told the Mirror that he is convinced the club will win something this year.
The Black Cats have endured a difficult start to the season after a summer of change at the club.
David Moyes replaced Sam Allardyce in the North East after he left to take charge of England.
The Scot has had a difficult start to life at the Stadium of Light, with them sitting in 19th in the table after picking up just one point in his first five games.

There were small signs of improvement in the recent loss to Tottenham Hotspur and Kone is predicting big things to come for the side.
“We have a good team. We have a good coach. We have a good club,” he told the Mirror.
“Now we will not give up. We will stay focused. We will keep looking forward and I know we are going to win something. We are going to do something this season.”

If Sunderland are to enjoy success in the cups this season it will take Moyes breaking his own cup curse.
His Everton team managed to reach the FA Cup final just once under his leadership, losing 2-1 to Chelsea, as well as reaching the semi-finals once.
In the League Cup, they fared even worse, reaching the semi-final just once during his long reign and often failing to get past the third or fourth round.
That does not bode well for the Black Cats despite Kone’s confidence that they are set for success this season.
