Lamar Odom’s first wife, Liza Morales, has opened up about the strict control Khloe Kardashian had during the former NBA star’s hospital stay.
The revelations come from Netflix’s Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, which revisits the intense and emotional period following Odom’s 2015 medical emergency.
During that time, access to Odom became a major point of tension. Decisions over who could see him were tightly managed. And that created a divide between those closest to him.

Liza Morales questions Khloe Kardashian’s hospital control
Speaking on Netflix’s Untold: The Death & Life of Lamar Odom, Morales described how access to Odom was handled.
“Some people got to see him, some people didn’t. We didn’t have control over that. Khloe had control over that,” Morales said.
Kardashian also addressed the situation directly, explaining why restrictions were put in place.
“I had filters on who I would let into the hospital, that’s very true. At the very beginning, I would let people come in. And then I found out that three of them were drug dealers that were wanting to collect money, rummaging through his personal bags,” Kardashian revealed.
She added: “When that happened is when I said, ‘We’re on lockdown. Whoever wants to come, I need to authorize them being here.’”
The explanation highlights the chaos surrounding Odom’s condition at the time. Kardashian’s decision was driven by concerns over his safety and environment. However, it also led to frustration among family members who felt excluded.
Liza Morales describes tense hospital situation around Lamar Odom
Morales went on to detail how the situation escalated during visits to the hospital.
“We were coming out of the elevator, the whole family was with me. Kris Jenner’s bodyguard was like, ‘Before you come onto this floor, you guys gotta sign this [NDA].’ I was looking at him and he was like, ‘Not you,’” Morales further revealed.
“It got so bad that somebody must have told the cops because Vegas PD came upstairs with five cops, two German shepherds. It was very intimidating. I think it was to keep the peace, but it made it worse. Kind of triggering,” she concluded.
The account paints a picture of an already emotional situation becoming even more strained. Security measures and restrictions added another layer of tension.
For Morales, the experience left a lasting impact. It reflected just how complicated the circumstances were around Odom’s recovery.
The documentary brings those moments back into focus, showing how different perspectives shaped the experience. It remains a deeply personal chapter for everyone involved.
