Everton fans on Twitter aren’t in the least bit happy about news coming out about Kieran Dowell.
The Toffees confirmed earlier this morning that they had sold the 22-year-old to recently-relegated Norwich City.
Dowell was one of the most exciting midfielders coming through from the club’s Finch Farm academy.
He has enjoyed decent loan spells in the Championship with Sheffield United and Wigan Athletic in recent years, but struggled to fight his way into Everton’s senior squad under Marco Silva or Carlo Ancelotti.
Still, it wasn’t expected for the club to sell Dowell on a permanent basis and some fans of the Goodison Park club really aren’t happy about it.
Everton fans might get over this pretty sharpish if somebody like Allan is coming in to replace Dowell in the squad.
But supporters at every club like to see one of their own succeed in the first team and, considering that Dowell joined the Toffees at the age of seven, he was definitely considered one of their own.
