The prospective Aston Villa recruit Josh King possesses ‘every attribute’, according to one ex-Villans striker.

The Telegraph reports King is the subject of a £16 million from Aston Villa, after they missed out on the signing of his former Bournemouth teammate Callum Wilson to Newcastle United.

The Norway striker has scored 50 goals in 170 games for Bournemouth across all competitions, but looks likely to follow Wilson out of the Vitality Stadium after the Cherries’ relegation and having entered the final year of his contract.

And Stan Collymore claims that, at the figure quoted by The Telegraph, King is a player worth having for Aston Villa – even though there is one area of his game the 28-year-old must work on.

Posting on Twitter earlier, Collymore wrote:

King was on Manchester United’s books as a kid and moved to Bournemouth via Blackburn Rovers five years ago.

Collymore scored 12 goals in 56 games for Aston Villa, who paid Liverpool £9.45 million for his services in 1997, according to Transfermarkt.
