Leeds United still need to further strengthen ahead of the new Championship season.
Leeds United have impressed in the transfer window to date, bringing in six new players to strengthen in key areas.
That said there is still some work to be done before the majority of supporters feel the Whites have a squad capable of finally returning to the top flight after so long away, and this year it is vital manager Garry Monk gets it right before the window slams shut until January.
In the past, the emergency loan window has come in very handy for Football League sides. But that is not the case anymore, with the previous nine-week and five-week periods from September and February respectively no longer allowing for additional loan deals.
Monk will be well aware of that, as will Leeds owner Massimo Cellino, and as such it is vital they conclude all their business in the next month to ensure they are fully prepared for the challenges ahead.
The emergency loan windows allowed for extra changes as and when clubs needed them, at least within certain timeframes. Now it is all about getting it right first time round.
Monk has impressed thus far, with Kemar Roofe and Marcus Antonsson in particular looking like savvy additions. He just needs to conclude what could go down as a great window for Leeds, the sooner the better.
