Celtic and Aston Villa fans have reacted to a cryptic Twitter message from Stan Collymore where he has seemingly suggested that Steven Gerrard has left Rangers for the Premier League club.

The former striker posted ‘it’s done’ added with the hashtag ‘Up the Villa’ amid these rumours of the Rangers boss becoming Villa’s next manager.

Celtic and Villa supporters have shared a mixed reaction to Collymore’s cryptic tweet, as they think he is hinting towards the Gerrard deal being done.

The Claret and Blue faithful are excited about the prospect of the ex-midfielder joining them.

Whilst those repping the Bhoys think that the Englishman has been hyped up a little too much.

Ever since Villa sacked Dean Smith last Sunday, they have seemingly made Gerrard their number one target.

And the Telegraph have suggested that he is on the brink of taking to the reigns of the Midlands side.

During his years at Ibrox, Gerrard has won only one Premiership title – last season – which ended Celtic’s near ten-year dominance in Scotland.

But others have been critical that he hasn’t won more silverware and his name is being hyped up because of what he did during his playing days.

If he does indeed move to Villa Park, then everyone will really see what Gerrard is made of because he will be managing in the best league in the world.

Here is a selection of Celtic and Villa fans reacting to Collymore’s cryptic tweet:
