Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has told the club’s official website that Alexandre Lacazette could be offered a new contract.

Lacazette is out of contract at Arsenal at the end of the season.

The 30-year-old striker has not been offered a new deal.

However, Arsenal boss Artete has said that could change.

The Spaniard has also raved about the 30-year-old France international striker.

Arteta told Arsenal’s official website: “No, we will see. Anything is possible.”

The Spaniard added about the striker: “I had no doubts about that, and if I did I would probably have suggested doing something different with him in the summer.

“When a player cannot find the motivation and interest din just his financial future, it is not the case with Laca and he has shown that since I’ve been here every single day and that’s why he is a really important player for us.”

Will Alexandre Lacazette stay at Arsenal?

If you read the comments from Arteta on Lacazette, you will notice that the Arsenal boss rates him highly.

The striker seems to be working hard in training and is professional in his attitude.

That is certainly encouraging.

However, in our view, Lacazette will not stay at Arsenal beyond the summer of 2022.

The striker joined Arsenal in the summer of 2017 when Arsene Wenger was the manager of the North London club.

The 30-year-old has scored 51 goals in 131 Premier League appearances for the Gunners so far this season.

However, Lacazette has struggled to play regularly under Arteta.

The Frenchman made 22 starts in the Premier League last season and is yet to start in the league this campaign.

Lacazette is 30 now, and we think that he will leave Arsenal on a free transfer next summer and join a club where he will be a regular.
