Aston Villa’s Joleon Lescott
LA Galaxy boss Bruce Arena has confirmed to the Daily Mirror that his side will not be making a fresh approach for Joleon Lescott after failing to land the Aston Villa defender in January.
The former England centre-back has been told that he is free to leave the Villans this summer, the Mirror claims, but appears to be running out of options after a proposed move to Scottish Premiership side Rangers fell through.

And while the 34-year-old may have been hoping that the Galaxy would offer him a fresh start having tried to bag his signature earlier in the year, Arena has quashed any talk of a move happening while also seemingly taking a swipe at Lescott’s current club for the way they battled against relegation last season.
“He is free but we don’t have any room for him,” he told the Mirror.

“We had discussions with the player and the club when they were in a relegation battle in which they didn’t put up a real good fight.”
After a difficult couple of years that has seen the former Manchester City man go from being one of the most impressive English defenders to being surplus to requirements at a Championship side, he may have been hoping that a complete change of scene would allow him to reignite his career somewhat.
However, with Arena ruling out that option, Lescott appears to have been left hoping that someone will be willing to take a chance on him in the remaining days of the window.
