The MLB’s hottest property Shohei Ohtani has been ruled out of the All Star Game.

The four-time MVP is having another stellar season, leading the Los Angeles Dodgers to the best record in the league as they seek to return to the World Series for a third consecutive season.

His talents have wowed the league for years, but they won’t be on display during the league’s showcase game on July 14th.

Ohtani was scratched from Friday’s game against the Arizona Diamondbacks due to inflammation in his left knee. That injury will also see him out of Tuesday’s All Star game.

According to Reuters, he will have “interventions” on his knee to get himself in the best shape for the back end of the season. The 32-year-old joins Aaron Judge and Mike Trout on the absentee list, and he will not be traveling to Philadelphia.

Ohtani made the All Star team for a sixth time, and led the fan voting by a wide margin with 3,341,257 in Phase 1 of the vote.
