Kyle Walker could be replaced by his hero at Tottenham Hotspur, if the latest reports by Yahoo are to believed.

Tottenham have reportedly made an approach to Juventus for Dani Alves, who they want to sign in the summer.

The Brazilian full-back has reportedly been offered a two-year deal by Spurs.

And, if Alves was to be snapped up by Spurs, his arrival would surely be the end for Kyle Walker.

Walker has been linked with a move away from Tottenham in recent times, with Manchester City said to be interested.

Walker looked to be a key part of Spurs’ team, but Mauricio Pochettino has started to show doubts over the attacking right-back in recent weeks.

Kieran Trippier has overtaken him in the pecking order at Spurs, and it seems that Walker’s place could now be taken by a player who was once his hero.

Walker spoke of his admiration for Alves back in 2013 to Tribal Football, after playing against the Brazilian international while representing England.

He said: “He is one of my idols. I asked David Luiz, who I have bumped into a few times with Sandro, to ask him if I could have his shirt.

“I wasn’t sure when he was giving it me if he even knew who I was! I was just like ‘Thank you ever so much’ and a bit in awe of him.

“I know people will say I’m a footballer as well but I’m just Kyle from Sheffield – that’s all I see myself as. So if I see Dani Alves, who I watch at Barcelona, I will be a bit choked up to talk to him.

“I thanked him for it and tweeted him later to say thank you. I’ll frame it. I’ve got a few downstairs where I keep all my shirts.”
