Kyle Edwards has admitted to West Bromwich Albion’s official website that his immediate future lies on the Baggies’ substitutes’ bench.

Edwards was handed his first West Brom appearance last night by Darren Moore, as the youngster came on against Luton Town.

Edwards admits the night was special, but he wants to break into the first-team on a more permanent basis as the season progresses.

He said: “It was a special night.

“My target now is to force my way into the team.

“I’ll keep showing what I can do from the bench. But ultimately I want to get that starting position.”

Edwards helped West Brom pick up a 1-0 win over League One side Luton yesterday.

The Baggies scored their goal through Oliver Burke, with Edwards impressing after coming on.

The 20-year-old appears to want to remain at the Hawthorns this season, despite spending last term out on loan.

West Brom have a great deal of competition for places in their attacking positions, but Moore has gone on record to praise the youngster previously, and appears to be a big fan of the prospect.
