Liverpool fans could soon experience a takeover for the first time since since 2010 as Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have decided to sell the Reds.

According to the Mirror, FSG have set a £4bn asking price, so only one of the wealthiest groups on the planet will be able to take Liverpool off their hands.

If a buyer is found, there is set to be major investment in the playing staff, as Jürgen Klopp finds himself slipping behind the likes of Arsenal, Manchester City, and even Newcastle.

So, let’s take a look at what a Liverpool XI could end up like following a lucrative takeover.

Liverpool backline remains the same, midfield overhaul

Well, for all their current problems, Liverpool still have some of the best defenders in Europe, as well as Alisson in between the sticks, who is arguably the best glovesman around.

The midfield department is where the problems can be found.

Jordan Henderson and James Milner aren’t getting any younger, so we believe whoever takes over from FSG will look to ease Klopp’s issues by bringing Enzo Fernandez and Jude Bellingham to Anfield.

According to ESPN, Liverpool are already leading the race to sign Bellingham, whereas it was SPORT in Spain who revealed that the Reds want to pinch Fernandez from Benfica, after taking Darwin Nunez from them.

Kvaratskhelia & Mbappe arrive

Now, before you shoot down the Mbappe suggestion, let’s have a look at the details.

The France international is said to be unhappy at Paris Saint-Germain, according to Fabrizio Romano and numerous French news outlets, with El Pais claiming that he has agreed to take his uncle’s advice and make Liverpool his next club.

Therefore, it certainly isn’t impossible, especially if Liverpool are taken over by wealthy new owners.

Mbappe can operate in the centre while Mohamed Salah lingers out on the right, and to replace the dynamic threat of Sadio Mane out on the left, we believe Khvicha Kvaratskhelia would be an ideal option.

The Georgia international has been on fire for Napoli this season with eight goals and ten assists in all competitions, and Calciomercato believe he has consequently attracted interest from Liverpool and Manchester City.

If Liverpool can somehow make the above XI into reality, they could go on to do truly incredible things under Klopp.
