Everton have taken Kurt Zouma on loan and he has impressed at Goodison Park.
Zouma has impressed at Everton since he signed on loan from Chelsea, but it is not clear where the Frenchman will be playing football next season.
Marco Silva has gone on record to suggest that Everton would like to sign Zouma on a long-term basis.
And Zouma’s comments about his desire to be playing first-team football next term must put Everton in pole position.
“I have not had time to talk about because we still have seventh place to take before the end of the season so I am focused on that,” Zouma said.
“Where I will be is where I know I have a chance to play. If it is here or somewhere else – I don’t know where – I just want to enjoy myself and to keep playing.”
Zouma is still contracted at Chelsea, but it is difficult to see him breaking into Maurizio Sarri’s side’s first-team.
Antonio Rudiger and David Luiz appear to have established themselves as Chelsea’s first choice pairing, and the Blues also have Andreas Christensen in reserve.
Zouma appears to face a huge fight if he is to gain regular football at Stamford Bridge, but Everton would be able to offer him a place in their starting line-up.
The powerful defender is playing a key role for Silva, and if he was to join on a permanent deal then his place in Everton’s starting line-up would surely be secured.
According to The Sun, Everton would have to pay £30 million to make Zouma’s transfer a permanent one.
