Everton have only won two points from four Premier League games.
Kurt Zouma has suggested to Everton’s official website that Richarlison probably should have scored in Saturday’s defeat at Manchester City.
Marco Silva’s side went 3-1 at Eastlands to ensure that Everton have only picked up two points from their last four Premier League games.
It might have been a different outcome for the Toffees had Richarlison, a £50 million addition during the summer, scored a first-half sitter when the score was 0-0.
The Brazilian attacker went on to fluff another chance in the match, as did Theo Walcott and Dominic Calver-Lewin – who scored Everton’s goal – and Zouma concedes that the South American should have stuck away his chance.
He told the club’s official website: “It’s not difficult to enjoy these type of games against a big team in a big stadium. We had chances, the first one from Richarlison in the first half. Maybe we should have scored more but it’s done now.
“Everyone gave 100 per cent. Now we’re going to recover and great ready for next week.”
It’s been a horrific run of games for Everton, who have faced City and Liverpool in recent weeks, but it gets no easier for Silva’s side ahead of Sunday’s visit of in-form Tottenham.
Richarlison has gone missing in the really big games for the Goodison Park side this season, with none of his eight Premier League goals coming against a top-six opposition, but he can put that right this weekend.
