Leeds United’s first team may not have had the greatest 2018, but their Under-18’s have given fans something to shout about at the end of the season.

The Whites, who beat Barnsley 2-1 this weekend, have won just three times in 2018 and haven’t exactly looked convincing under new manager Paul Heckingbottom, leaving fans frustrated.

However, Leeds’ Under-18’s have been thriving this season, clinched the PDL North Division title with a 1-0 victory over Bolton Wanderers on Saturday afternoon.

The only goal of the game came from striker Kun Temenuzhkov, sending a fine looping header into the net to hand Leeds the victory and also underline why he is one of the most highly-rated youngsters in the Leeds setup.

Temenuzhkov, 18, joined Leeds last summer and arrived with plenty of fanfare having been in the Barcelona youth setup, and even linked with Manchester City before making his move to Elland Road.

The Bulgarian forward has been a regular goalscorer at Under-18 level this season, and he has been reflecting on his first season in English football having clinched the title-winning goal on Saturday.

Temenuzhkov took to Instagram to post a video of his goal, and also state how happy he was to bag the winner, and suggested that it has been a year of learning both on and off the pitch having adjusted to life in England.

‘This is my first season at @leedsunited and I’m very happy to score a decisive goal to win a title after so many months of work with this club that has given me a home and different goals, this year has been for learning, both professionally and personally. Getting used to a different country and football, this league is dedicated to all the fans, friends and family that support me every day. Just thank football for these experiences, for these magical moments that give meaning to all the sacrifice and dedication for this beautiful sport.’
