Leeds United caused something of a stir in the summer of 2017, as they managed to sign former Barcelona talent Kun Temenuzhkov.
Victor Orta pounced to bring the Bulgarian to Elland Road, just months after he was named in The Guardian’s top 60 young talents and compared to Luis Suarez.
The 20-year-old was tipped for a bright future at Elland Road, but has made just one first-team appearance for the Whites having struggled to break through.
After a brief loan spell at La Nucia last season, Temenuzhkov is now on loan at Real Union in the Spanish third tier – and he’s off to a strong start.
Temenuzhkov scored the only goal in a 1-0 win over Leioa on Sunday, and he took to Instagram to celebrate a great start to life with the club.
Now, the striker has spoken to Gols Media in Spain, and admits that he is ‘very happy’ to see the club rise an start well in the Premier League.
Whilst Temenuzhkov is playing in the third tier of Spain, he claims the truth is that he is proud of his teammates as they’re living they’re dreams – and he will surely hope for the same in the future.
“The truth is that I am very happy for the rise of Leeds, I am proud to see many teammates achieve their goals and dreams, which is to play in the best league in the world, which in my opinion is the Premier League,” said Temenuzhkov. “I see them every weekend, and they are starting the league very well,” he added.
