Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest in the League Cup later this month.
While the international break is upon us once more, it will not be long before Arsenal fans are back enjoying domestic action with the Gunners kicking off their Champions League and EFL Cup campaigns.
The former will see Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger go strong as he looks to make a statement against Paris Saint-Germain, but the latter could see some of the club’s next generation given a chance to impress.
One such player is 18-year-old Krystian Bielik, whose only senior appearance for the Gunners to date came in last season’s League Cup campaign, where he played 30 minutes of a 3-0 defeat to Sheffield Wednesday.
It was a sombre introduction to first-team football in England and Bielik will no doubt be hoping to get another chance to impress when Arsenal take on Nottingham Forest on 20 September.
The young Pole arrived at the Emirates Stadium with a big reputation after playing six matches for Legia Warsaw’s first-team as a 16-year-old.
He has made his way steadily through Arsenal’s youth ranks ever since and he is ready for another stab at first-team football later this month.
Able to play as a centre-back or a defensive midfielder, Bielik is versatile and talented enough to have a bright future in North London, and his next chance to shine could be just around the corner.
