Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has impressed on his starting appearances for Brendan Rodgers’ side.

Kristoffer Ajer has told the Scottish Sun that even he has been surprised by his progress at Celtic.
Ajer was brought to Parkhead by Ronny Deila, and the youngster had shown flashes of quality in his fleeting starts for the club.
However, the 19-year-old is now starting to establish himself as a first-team regular for the Bhoys.

Ajer impressed in the Europa League when Celtic took on Zenit St. Petersburg last week.
And the centre-back admits that he has been surprised he has progressed so much this term.
“I’m 19 years old. I need to take my chances when they come along,” he said.
“I feel I’ve learned a lot from the gaffer and the rest of the staff, both in training and in the games I’ve played.
I think I’m developing every single day. I didn’t think I’d develop quite as much as I have done this year but it’s a great feeling. I’m getting more and more games. With each one, I feel stronger.”

Ajer’s form means that Brendan Rodgers now has a battle on his hands for places in his Celtic team.
Celtic signed Marvin Compper in January to bolster their defensive options, but his injury has provided Ajer with a chance to impress, and the Norwegian has taken it.
Ajer is now expected to start for Celtic in the second-leg of their crucial tie against Zenit on Thursday evening.
