Celtic defender Kristoffer Ajer has told The Scottish Sun that he thought Neil Lennon’s half-time team talk against Kilmarnock on Saturday really helped.
The Bhoys were back in action on Saturday as Kilmarnock made the trip to Parkhead, with Steve Clarke looking to spring a surprise on the hosts.
After two 0-0 draws in a row in the league, Celtic fans were hoping to see more goals on Saturday, but it looked like being another frustrating afternoon.
Celtic racked up 27 shots on the Kilmarnock goal, but only one went in as Jozo Simunovic scored the only goal of the game in the second half.
That was enough for a Celtic win, taking them another step closer to the league title, but it wasn’t exactly convincing once again under Lennon.
Some have been disappointed with the brand of football Lennon has brought since stepping in to replace Brendan Rodgers, but he’s at least kept results at a high standard.

Now, defender Ajer has admitted that Celtic were ‘all over the place’ in the first half, and Lennon’s team talk – demanding a more compact style and more energy going forward – really worked out well for the team, praising Lennon’s words.
“We were a bit all over the place in the first half. The gaffer had a great talk at half-time and I think our second half was a lot better,” said Ajer. “It was about getting the team more compact and a little bit more energy in our offensive play. I think it really worked out well,” he added.
