Celtic are on the verge of winning the Scottish Premiership title.

Sky Sports pundit Kris Commons has waxed-lyrical about Celtic goalkeeper Scott Bain and claimed that he is ‘vital’ to the team ‘right now’.
The 27-year-old has been a regular in the side for a number of months now and he put in a stellar performance as his team recorded a 1-0 win over Kilmarnock in the Scottish Premiership on Saturday afternoon.
Speaking to Sky Sports Football (27/04/2019) after the match, Commons spoke highly about Celtic’s man between the sticks who has been in a rich vein of form recently.
“Bain has made some important saves, particularly in the last couple of weeks,” Commons told Sky Sports Football.
“He’s there, he keeps his team in the game and we saw how tight it was [against Kilmarnock] with just one goal from a set-piece, so it shows how vital Scott Bain is to this team right now.”
At the start of the season, Bain found himself sitting on the bench and playing backup to the more senior Craig Gordon, but then he got his chance following Scotland’s return from the mid-winter break.

Then-manager Brendan Rodgers threw him straight into the starting XI and he proved his worth instantly by recording countless number of clean sheets for his side.
Over the course of the season, Bain has played 16 Premiership games for his side, conceding only three goals and helping his team secure an incredible 13 clean sheets [transfermarkt].
There is no doubt that he is now Celtic’s number one and he has arguably been the Hoops best performer since he has come into the side.
