Kris Commons has shared that Neil Lennon will demand his Celtic team to ‘pass with a purpose’ and play ‘quickly between the lines’ in these final few months of the season.
Following his return to Parkhead last month, Lennon has taken charge of three matches, winning two and recording a goalless draw at home to Aberdeen on Saturday.
When Brendan Rodgers was in charge, he always demanded his team passed out from the back and play a possession brand of football.
Speaking to SPFL Matters on (08/03/2019 at 6:06 pm), former Celtic man Commons, who played under Lennon, shared a tactical insight into the club legend.
“That’s the big strong thing of his,” Commons told SPFL Matters. “You pass with a purpose. Don’t just pass with no apparent reason. He likes to play quickly between the lines. He likes to have a number 10 in there with a bit of imagination. Callum McGregor can certainly play that role.”
