Ibrox outfit Glasgow Rangers should have gone with Aberdeen’s Derek McInnes instead of Pedro Caixinha, says Kris Commons.

Caixinha was appointed the Rangers manager in March 2017 following the departure of Mark Warburton, who is now in charge of Nottingham Forest in the Championship in England.
The Portuguese boss has not been exactly great at Ibrox so far, as the Gers finished third in the Scottish Premiership last season and may not end up runners-up this term.
McInnes has been in charge of Aberdeen since 2013 and has done a remarkable job at the Pittodrie Stadium.
The former Rangers midfielder has guided the Dons to second-placed finishes in the league in each of the past three seasons.

Aberdeen are second in the Scottish Premiership table at the moment with 23 points from nine matches, level on points with leaders Celtic and six clear of third-placed Rangers.
Former Celtic attacking midfielder Commons has suggested that Rangers should have appointed McInnes as their manager instead of Caixinha.

“Brendan has said Derek McInnes would be an ideal Scotland manager but I think Rangers missed a trick by not taking him to Ibrox when they hired Pedro Caixinha,” Commons wrote in The Daily Mail.
“I’m pretty sure the Rangers job would be one Derek would not be able to turn down if it came along. But Derek is a man in demand in England because of what he has achieved at Aberdeen.”
