Former Celtic midfielder Kris Commons has commented on Glasgow Rangers boss Pedro Caixinha’s problems at Ibrox.
Former Celtic man Kris Commons has told The Daily Mail that Rangers fans proved their frustration with manager Pedro Caixinha on Saturday.
Rangers beat Motherwell 2-1 at Fir Park on the first weekend of the Scottish Premiership season but things haven’t been great since that.
Caixinha’s side lost 3-2 to Hibernian at Ibrox nine days ago, before failing to bounce back from that disappointment by drawing 0-0 at home to Hearts on the weekend.
As a consequence, the Gers are already five points behind reigning champions Celtic, who have won all three of their games so far, and those on the blue side of the Old Firm divide can’t afford to let the gap get any bigger, such is the Hoops’ quality.
Boos echoed around Ibrox at full time on Saturday as Rangers fans made their feelings obvious, and the former Celtic midfielder believes that Caixinha would have received the message loud and clear.
He told The Daily Mail: “We are only three games into the new league season and already Rangers are trailing the leaders Celtic by five points.
“Four points from a possible nine — after the weekend’s goalless draw at home to Hearts — is hardly the form to fuel any confidence that Pedro has changed anything from last season’s stumbling finish.
The boos that rang out around Ibrox at full-time on Saturday were proof that the Rangers support are growing increasingly frustrated and angry.”
Caixinha, who replaced axed Mark Warburton in March, has won only won nine of his 17 matches in charge of the Gers so far.
