Kris Commons comments on Celtic striker Odsonne Edouard

Odsonne Edouard is the first-choice striker at Celtic at the moment.

Kris Commons has told The Scottish Sun what Celtic midfielder Scott Brown has said to him about his teammate Odsonne Edouard.

The former Celtic star has disclosed that he spoke to Brown when Moussa Dembele was leaving for Lyon in the summer of 2018.

Commons, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, has stated that the Celtic midfielder – who has been on the books of the Bhoys since the summer of 2007 when he joined from Hibernian for a transfer fee reported by The Guardian to be worth £4.4 million – told him that Edouard is going to be better than Dembele.

Commons told The Scottish Sun: “I really rate Edouard. I remember speaking to Scott Brown around the time there was talk of Moussa Dembele leaving Celtic.

“Odsonne was still on loan from PSG then and I asked Broony how he was getting on. He said he was going to be better than Dembele. “I said, ‘Really?’ and Broony told me, ‘Yeah, because he’s got everything’.”

Promising talent

Edouard is a very talented striker who has delivered the goods for Celtic, and the 21-year-old can only get better.

Technically very gifted, the striker is a nuisance for opposition defenders in the penalty area, and his ability to score goals in the big matches, such as the Old Firm derbies against Rangers, underlines his big-game mentality.
