Celtic will be preparing to win the treble-treble when they take on Hearts in the Scottish Cup final in a fortnights time.
Sky Sports pundit Kris Commons has claimed that it is ‘noticeable’ when Tom Rogic is missing from Celtic’s starting XI as he praised his qualities on the ball.
Midfielder Rogic has been a key player for the Bhoys in recent seasons and is a big part as to why they are chasing the treble-treble this term.
The Scottish Premiership season will draw to a close on Sunday when Celtic take on Hearts – they will take on the same opponents in the Scottish Cup final the following week.
Nonetheless, speaking to Sky Sports Football (12/05/2019 11:50 am), Commons waxed-lyrical about how good of a player Rogic is and how important he is to the club.
“When Tom’s missing in this Celtic squad I think there’s a real noticeable difference,” Commons told Sky Sports Football. “Tom creates so much with the ball when he’s running and when he finds the passes.
“You hear people saying ‘we need a creative midfielder, someone that can see a pass and score a goal’. Tom Rogic epitomises the number 10, right now. In terms of receiving the ball.
“He can take the ball. Left and right foot and drive at defenders. And he’s not a small kid. He’s 6ft+, he’s a big boy and a powerful lad. When he’s driving at you, he’s very intimidating. He’s a striker’s dream.”
Over the weekend, Neil Lennon’s side suffered a demoralising defeat to their Old Firm rivals as the Scottish Premiership champions failed to turn up at Ibrox.
It was a disappointing performance from the team, who struggled to play their natural game in a hostile atmosphere and against a team that had a lot to prove.
But Celtic can put all that behind them in a couple of weeks if they beat Hearts in the Scottish Cup final. Victory in that encounter will secure a historic treble-treble.
