The former Celtic player had harsh words for Snodgrass over the West Ham United winger’s national team withdrawal.

The former Celtic and Scotland midfielder, Kris Commons, has backtracked over comments he made about Robert Snodgrass earlier this week, regarding West Ham United winger’s national team withdrawal.
Snodgrass is one of several Scotland stars to have made themselves unavailable for selection during this month’s international break, despite having played 90 minutes for West Ham at the weekend.
And in his column for the Daily Mail on Monday, Commons accused the 31-year-old Celtic fan of ‘not fancying turning up’.
“Snodgrass has asked not to be picked due to an apparent ankle knock,” he wrote. “But he’s fit enough to have played 15 times for West Ham this season. How does that work?
“I find it strange with Snodgrass. He’s a hugely popular member in the camp. He obviously just doesn’t fancy turning up and maybe not playing every game.”
But in a tweet posted on Thursday morning, Commons wrote: “Just want to clarify my column on Monday. I was wrong about Robert Snodgrass regarding international pull outs.”
The 35-year-old stopped short of an apology, however, and his comments failed to appease many of those in his replies.
Here is what they are saying:
Snodgrass has enjoyed a revival in fortunes following his return to West Ham from a season-long loan at Aston Villa in the summer.
The 26-cap star has scored two goals and assisted four Manuel Pellegrini’s side this season, although each of those contributions arrived in the EFL Cup.

What should Snodgrass make of the former Celtic player’s comments?
