Scott Bain has deputised well for injured Celtic goalkeeper Craig Gordon.

Kris Commons has written in The Daily Mail that it would be “very harsh” if Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers axed Scott Bain for the returning Craig Gordon.
Bain joined Celtic on a half-season loan from Dundee in January after the veteran Scottish keeper was ruled out for a few months with a knee injury.
But the 35-year-old is closing in on a return to full fitness after more than two months out.
Bain has only managed three games for the Hoops after dispalcing Dorus de Vries, but has barely put a foot wrong and there was speculation last month that a permanent switch to Glasgow was on the cards.
Gordon’s imminent return will give Rodgers something of a dilemma, but former Celtic attacker Commons suggests that the Northern Irishman should keep faith in the 26-year-old for now.
He told The Mail: “If Brendan Rodgers has any doubts at all about Scott Bain, then Craig Gordon will come straight back into the Celtic side when ready.

“But if he has unstinting faith in Bain, Gordon will simply have to be patient…that’s just how it works.
“What Bain has done since he’s come in has been impressive. It would be very harsh for him to lose his place now but, as we know, Rodgers has always tinkered with his keepers.”
Celtic probably need a new goalkeeper this summer regardless. De Vries surely can’t have a future beyond this summer, despite signing a contract extension before Christmas.
Gordon has proven himself an excellent option between the sticks, but at 35, the former Sunderland stopper isn’t a viable long-term option and regardless of his plans with Bain, Rodgers should bring in another keeper.
