Pundit Kris Commons has told the Daily Mail that he thinks Rangers and Celtic should move for Hibernian winger Martin Boyle this summer.
Boyle was in fine form on Saturday afternoon, scoring twice to help Hibs beat Kilmarnock 2-1 on the opening day of the season at Easter Road.
His blistering pace made the opening goal as he raced past goalkeeper Jake Eastwood to score, and his second goal was a superb right-footed strike from the corner of the box.
Boyle’s speed and movement always makes him a threat, and he showed his quality with his match-winning brace.
Boyle, 27, hit six goals an eight assists last season, and his full record for Hibs now stands at 36 goals and 36 assists in 189 games; around a goal contribution every two-and-a-half games.
The Australian could find himself a wanted man in the transfer market, and Commons has now backed him for a move to one of the Old Firm sides.
Commons claims that Neil Lennon rates Boyle ‘highly’ and loved working with him at Hibs, suggesting that he could be a fit for Celtic.

Commons added that Rangers should also be targeting Boyle, believing that he could cost just £250,000 given that he has just one year left on his contract.
“My advice to Hibs fans would be quite simple. Enjoy him while you can,” said Commons. “Given that he’s only got a year left to run on his contract, bigger clubs are bound to be looking at him. I know for a fact that Neil Lennon rates him highly and thoroughly enjoyed working with him during their time together at Easter Road.”
“I also don’t see why the likes of Rangers shouldn’t at least have a look at him and explore the possibility of making an offer. With just a year left on his contract, Boyle wouldn’t cost an arm and a leg. Especially not with the financial problems Hibs are facing. He could be available at a knockdown price. I reckon a bid of around £250k would be enough to at least ask the question of Hibs,” he added.
