Steven Gerrard’s side will take on Celtic at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this coming Sunday afternoon.
Rangers have already secured the runners-up spot in the league table this season, while Celtic clinched the title this past weekend with a 3-0 win against Aberdeen away from home.
According to The Scottish Sun, Rangers will not give Celtic a guard of honour before the Old Firm derby this coming Sunday.
Kilmarnock striker Boyd, who had two separate spells at Rangers, believes that the Gers should give Celtic a guard of honour.
Boyd told The Scottish Sun: “I think it would be the right thing to do. I think Rangers would make a statement about what type of club they are if they did it.
“Over the years, it has always been the case that Rangers have held themselves in high regard and rightly so, because of the way they have conducted themselves.”

Disciplinary problems at Rangers
Meanwhile, Rangers manager Gerrard has admitted his concern over displinary issues among his players.
Rangers ended their Scottish Premiership game agains Hibernian at Ibrox this past weekend with 10 men due to the sending-off of goalkeeper Allan McGregor for kicking Marc McNulty in the back.
It was the Gers’ ninth red card in the league this season, and Gerrard had admitted his frustration.
BBC Sport quotes Gerrard as saying: “I’m not sure the exact number – I think it’s around nine red cards – but it’s not acceptable. It’s not good enough. I’ll try to address it.”
