Steven Gerrard’s Glasgow Rangers are back in action at Ibrox this afternoon, and Kris Boyd suggests that Jon Flanagan starts for the Gers.
Rangers full-back Jon Flanagan
Rangers will take on Hearts at Ibrox in the Scottish Premiership this afternoon.
Boyd, who had two separate spells at Rangers and is now at Scottish Premiership rivals Kilmarnock, believes that 25-year-old former Liverpool full-back Flanagan should start against Hearts.
The 35-year-old striker has also praised the England international – who joined Rangers in the summer transfer window – and has said that the full-back never lets down the Gers.
Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “I think Gerrard might look for a Ryan Jack or Andy Halliday-type in midfield as they need more cover for the centre-backs when Tavernier goes forward.
“I’d also stick with Jon Flanagan at left back as he tucks in at those times and he’s never let Gers down. He adds an extra bit of security.”

Winning against Hearts
Rangers will head into the match against Hearts on the back of a 3-1 victory over Rapid Vienna at Ibrox in the Europa League.
Gerrard’s team are full of confidence at the moment, and the Gers will fancy their chances of picking up all three points from the match against Hearts, although it is not going to be easy.
