Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers should sign Aston Villa’s Alan Hutton and Stoke City’s Charlie Adam, says former Gers striker Kris Boyd.

The former Rangers striker, who had two different spells at Ibrox, believes that Hutton would be delighted to return to Rangers when his current contract with Aston Villa runs out at the end of the season.
The 33-year-old right-back started his professional club football career at Rangers before leaving for Tottenham Hotspur in 2008.
Adam is playing in the Premier League with Stoke City at the moment, but the Potters could get relegated to the Championship at the end of the season.
The 32-year-old Scotland international midfielder, who earns £35,000 per week as salary at Stoke according to Spotrac.com, also started his professional club football career at Rangers, and he recently told BBC Sport that he would be open to joining the Gers in the summer transfer window.

Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “I’d also reach out to guys like Alan Hutton and Charlie Adam who have been at the club previously and know what it’s about.
“They don’t need the money they could get in England, so maybe the lure of Rangers and Gerrard could tempt them.
“I’m actually pretty sure Hutton would be delighted to come back up the road, especially with his mate Allan McGregor on his way already.”

Reaching out
Adam is a very good midfielder, and having played with Gerrard at Liverpool, the Scotsman will know what to expect from the former England international.
Hutton would be a decent signing as well, but James Tavernier has been playing well at right-back, and there is no immediate need for Rangers to sign a position for that position.
