Ahead of today’s clash between Rangers and Kilmarnock, Kille striker Kris Boyd has picked his dream XI solely consisting of former teammates from his two spells at Ibrox, The Scottish Sun reports.

The 33-year-old has, perhaps unsurprisingly, included himself in the line-up, but who else makes the cut?

GK: Allan McGregor

The 34-year-old came through the youth ranks at Murray Park. He was the side’s number one between 2006 and 2012, winning three Scottish Premiership titles, three Scottish Cups and five League Cups.

CB: Carlos Cuellar

The Spaniard only spent one season at Ibrox before departing for Aston Villa in 2008, but certainly made a big impression. The Gers’ sensational run to the UEFA Cup final meant that the defender made an eye-watering 65 appearances in all competitions that season, helping the side to a league and cup double.

CB: David Weir

Although the club’s current assistant manager was just a few months away from his 37th birthday when he joined the Light Blues, he would go on to make a massive impression before hanging up his boots at the age of 41. Despite his age, he would make over 100 appearances in all competitions during his final two full seasons alone and helped the side to plenty of success.

CB: Madjid Bougherra

The defender enjoyed a tremendous amount of highs and lows during his time at Ibrox, but still proved to be a worthy replacement when Cuellar left for England. Like McGregor and Cuellar, he is still playing.

RM: Steven Davis

With the Northern Irishman earning rave reviews in the Premier League with Southampton, some Gers supporters would be forgiven for wondering what could have been had he stayed at Ibrox. The often-underrated midfielder was a stalwart of the side for several years and was named the Scottish Premiership’s Players’ Player of the Year in 2010.

CM: Barry Ferguson

With 15 major honours to his name, it is hardly surprising that the former captain has already taken his place in the club’s Hall of Fame. He was twice named Scottish Football Writers’ Player of the Year and made over 430 appearances for the side across two spells.

CM: Pedro Mendes

The Portuguese was only at Ibrox for two seasons, and spent the majority of his second campaign on the sidelines due to injury, but still demonstrated why he had been a key man in the Premier League for the previous five seasons.

LM: Lee McCulloch

While McCulloch’s departure from Ibrox in 2015 appeared to be something of a messy exit, there is no question that he was a great servant for many years, including in the seasons following their demotion to the bottom tier. He was capable of playing anywhere on the pitch, and Boyd explained that there was no way that he could break the midfield quartet up.

“Steven Davis, Barry Ferguson, Pedro Mendes and Lee McCulloch played together and I can’t think of another player to split them up. That lot had everything,” he told The Scottish Sun.

ST: Kenny Miller

The 36-year-old is currently enjoying his third spell with Rangers, and yet he has looked as good as he ever has done. The veteran recently brought up his century of goals for the club, and it seems likely that there are many more to come.

As mentioned, Boyd included himself in the team. But it is difficult to argue against his inclusion. Though his second spell was underwhelming, his first stint at Ibrox was sensational. He scored 101 times in just 143 games before his departure in 2010.

ST: Dado Prso

The Croatian arrived at Ibrox just months after being a part of the Monaco side that contested the 2004 Champions League final. While he was not the most prolific striker, his physical presence made him a nightmare to compete against.
