Jordan Jones has signed a pre-contract agreement with Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers.

Jordan Jones will join Rangers in the summer of 2019 after signing a pre-contract agreement with Steven Gerrard’s Ibrox club in the January transfer window.
Jones is out of contract at Kilmarnock at the end of the season, and the winger will move to Scottish Premiership rivals Rangers on a free transfer in the summer of 2019.
Playing for Rangers is a big deal for any footballer, and the 24-year-old winger was understandably over the moon at signing a pre-contract agreement.
After the decision was made public, the Northern Ireland international made a post on Twitter expressing his delight at the prospective move to Rangers (click here to read more).
Kilmarnock fans were not happy with the post and criticised the winger on Twitter (click here to read more).
Kris Boyd plays with Jones at Kilmarnock, and the former Rangers striker – who had two spells at Ibrox – has revealed what he told the winger about his tweet.
Boyd has also said that Jones is good enough to play for a club in England.
Boyd wrote about Jones in The Scottish Sun: “For me, Jordan is guilty of nothing more than over-excitement and naivety. The boss has had a word with him and I’ve had a friendly word, too.
“And I’ve told him that this furore over one social media message might not be a bad thing — because it’ll prepare him for what his life will be like after he moves to Ibrox.”
Boyd added: “If he applies himself properly at Rangers and continues doing what he’s been doing on and off the pitch in the last 18 months, he’ll have the chance of success at Ibrox and the chance of a move back down to England.
“We’d be daft to sit here and think that Jordan doesn’t want to play south of the border again one day. He’s certainly good enough.”
