Odsonne Edouard joined Celtic in the summer of 2017.
Edouard joined Celtic from French giants Paris Saint-Germain on a season-long loan deal in the summer of 2017 and was signed by manager Brendan Rodgers.
The 20-year-old is essentially the third-choice striker at the Scottish Premiership club, having scored five goals in 15 appearances in all competitions for the Hoops so far this season, as stated on the club’s official website.
Former Rangers striker Boyd, who had two different spells at Ibrox and is now on the books of Scottish Premiership club Kilmarnock, has suggested that he is not yet convinced by Edouard.
Boyd, 34, wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Odsonne Edouard, for instance, still has to do more to convince me he’s got something.
“I couldn’t quite understand why he was playing against Partick Thistle the other night ahead of Leigh Griffiths and Dembele.
“But he’s a project, one for the future. Time will tell whether or not he’s cut out for life in Scottish football so we’ll just need to wait and see on that one.”
Edouard is a very talented and promising young striker, and although the French striker has not exactly been great, there have been some encouraging signs.
According to The Daily Mail, Celtic will have to pay a transfer fee of £7 million to PSG in the summer of 2018 in order to secure the services of Edouard on a permanent basis.
