Rangers and Celtic will go head-to-head in the first Old Firm fixture of the season on Sunday.

Kris Boyd has warned Rangers that they ‘better have a replacement lined up’ if they lose Alfredo Morelo before their showdown with Celtic on Sunday.
The former Premiership striker made it clear that Steven Gerrard cannot go into this season with Jermain Defoe as his only bonafide centre-forward, that’s if Morelos leaves.
Worryingly, Gerrard has stated that he is powerless in stopping a potential Morelos transfer, with the European window slamming shut on September 2, as reported by The Scottish Sun.
Speaking to Sky Sports News (26/08/2019 12:40 pm), Boyd shared his thoughts on Rangers, their manager Gerrard and their key man up top, Morelos.
On Gerrard’s biggest concern being that he might lose a key player, such as Morelos: “I think there’s been speculation about Alfredo Morelos for a long time now,” Boyd told Sky Sports News.

“Has there been any concrete interest there? If it comes then Rangers will have a decision to make. Yes, they have been linked with other strikers, but I think Steven Gerrard was fed up answering questions about Morelos staying or going.
“He’s here and he’s an asset to Rangers. If he does play, he will score goals. But if he has to go then Rangers better have a replacement lined up because they can’t go into this season, you know hoping to challenge Celtic, with Defoe as their only recognised striker.”
Morelos staying in Glasgow this season could be game-changing in the race for the Premiership title because he has the qualities to top the scoring charts at the end of the campaign.
But if he does leave then it’ll mean that his replacement would have big shoes to fill. However, there would then be extra pressure put on the shoulders of the experienced Defoe.
