The Glasgow Rangers midfielder is currently serving a three-week suspension at Ibrox after falling out with Mark Warburton.
Joey Barton
Kris Boyd has told The Scottish Sun that he hopes that Joey Barton never plays for Rangers again, and suggested that his attempts to get under the skin of Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers and captain Scott Brown were pathetic.

Rangers’ Clint Hill and Joey Barton
But the training ground bust-up was not the first time that Barton attracted attention to himself during his brief time with the Gers.
Shortly after joining the club from Burnley, Barton took a swipe at Hoops midfielder Brown by suggesting that the pair were not in the same league (via Daily Mail), and soon followed it up with a jibe at Rodgers (via The Scottish Sun).
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers
And Boyd suggested that the former Manchester City man crossed the line when he made those remarks.
“His taunts at Scott Brown and Brendan Rodgers were pathetic, so embarrassing it was untrue,” he told The Scottish Sun.
“No Rangers player worth his salt gets involved in that kind of thing with anyone from Celtic.
“Reason being there is a mutual respect for the club on the other side of the city.”

In the wake of the latest incident, Boyd – who enjoyed two spells with the Light Blues – has insisted that it is already time for the club to cut their ties with the one-time England international.
“The sooner he’s shown the door the better because there’s no way he should be allowed to pull on that blue jersey again,” he added.
With Boyd seemingly most offended by his remarks regarding Celtic, he may feel that, despite the disappointment over the Old Firm result, it would seem somewhat poetic that if he gets his wish, Barton’s exit would have been triggered by a defeat to the Bhoys.
