James Forrest has been perhaps Celtic’s best player this season.

Kris Boyd has included Celtic winger James Forrest in his Team of the Season so far, even if his form has ‘dipped’ as of late.
The 27-year-old has arguably been Celtic’s best player this season, scoring eight and setting up six in 17 Premiership starts for Brendan Rodgers’s side.
But there has been an undeniable dip in performances, with Forrest scoring only twice for the Hoops since the 5-1 win over Hearts on November 3.
“In the right-hand side of attack I’ve gone for James Forrest, a player who has added goals to his game and become a mainstay in the Scotland team too,” he told The Scottish Sun.
“The Celtic supporters have grown to love him after years of being up and down with the winger’s performances.
“His form has arguably dipped in the last six weeks but he’s still been unbelievable at times this season.”
Celtic probably need Forrest to get a second wind after the winter break.
Rangers are breathing down their neck in the Scottish Premiership race and a player of Forrest’s talents could take the Bhoys very close to an eighth successive league title.
If the Gers sign the calibre of players that they’re linked with, Rodgers’s side could face a serious fight to retain their title, and Forrest – who scored five in two games for Scotland during the last international break – can have a major say in that.
