Liverpool left-back Andrew Robertson did not play well for Scotland against Russia.

The former Rangers and Scotland international striker, who now works as a pundit for Sky Sports, was not impressed with how Liverpool left-back Robertson played for Scotland against Russia in the European Championship Qualifying Group I at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
The 25-year-old left-back did go on attacking runs and linked up well with Ryan Fraser, but he was under pressure at the back, was at fault for Russia’s equaliser, and generally did not defend well.
Boyd was not pleased with the display produced by Robertson, and he believes that former Hull City star should defend more for Scotland.
Boyd said about Robertson on Sky Sports Football (9:47pm, September 6, 2019): “Andy Robertson needs to realise he is playing for Scotland, he is not at Liverpool anymore. You need to defend first and foremost before you can then get forward.”

Improvement needed
Robertson is one of the best left-backs in Europe, and the 25-year-old has been superb for Liverpool.
However, the 25-year-old has not always produced the same level of performances for Scotland, and it is clear that the left-back needs to step up when he plays for the national team.
