Kris Boyd does not think that Celtic will be able to attract Jose Mourinho, Rafael Benitez, Roberto Martinez or Andre Villas-Boas.

Jose Mourinho is seen in the stands prior to the Premier League match between Fulham FC and Everton FC at Craven Cottage on April 13, 2019 in London, United Kingdom.

Former Rangers striker Kris Boyd has suggested in The Scottish Sun that Celtic are unlikely to get Jose Mourinho as their new manager.

According to The Daily Mail, Celtic have offered Mourinho the managerial role at Celtic Park.

Mourinho is without a managerial job at the moment following his departure from Manchester United in December 2018.

Boyd, who had two separate spells at Rangers and is now at Kilmarnock, also does not believe that Celtic will be able to attract Newcastle United boss Rafael Benitez, Roberto Martinez or Andre Villas-Boas.

Boyd wrote in The Scottish Sun: “Jose Mourinho, Rafa Benitez, Roberto Martinez and Andre Villas-Boas. Four reasons why Neil Lennon’s dream of becoming the next Celtic manager is still alive and well.

“There is absolutely NO chance any of that quartet will be in the Hoops hotseat come the start of next season.

“All four, of course, have been linked with moves to Glasgow in recent weeks, but it’s nothing more than wishful thinking on the part of Celtic fans.”

Stick with Neil Lennon?

Lennon was appointed in the managerial role at Celtic in February 2019 until the end of the season.

The former Hibernian manager has done a wonderful job since he replaced Brendan Rodgers, who left for Leicester City, and it will make sense for the Hoops to hand him the role on a permanent basis.

After all, this is Lennon’s second spell in charge of Celtic, and he was hugely successful during his first spell.
