Celtic and Neil Lennon will be in for a big summer as they look to continue their dominance in the Scottish Premiership for next season.
Kris Boyd has claimed that there is ‘more’ to the apparent leak which was showcasing Celtic’s potential transfer plans at Parkhead this summer.
The Scottish Premiership player has also stated that the current crop of Bhoys players will be ‘very, very disappointed’ with the apparent leak as he labelled the situation ‘pretty worrying’.
As reported by BBC Sport, Celtic have launched an investigation into the matter, with the document allegedly showing their summer transfer targets and the meetings which were attended by senior figures of the club in April.
Speaking to Sky Sports’ transfer podcast, Boyd shared his thoughts on the matter and how certain individuals within the club will be feeling about the alleged leak.
“Well, if you have got a couple of months on your contract, you might get a pay-off, so you might be happy with it [the leak],” Boyd initially joked to Sky Sports. “It’s not great. It’s definitely not great. If you’re a player on that [list], you’d be very, very disappointed.
“We all know that players leave football clubs and agents and chief executives will speak beforehand. But to have it out there for the public to know, it is disappointing, especially from a club like Celtic, who only three years ago nobody had an idea Brendan Rodgers was coming.
“There’s more in this for me. It’s very, very disappointing that you’re business is being conducted like that and I am sure Celtic will be disappointed as well. I think they have already said that they want to find out exactly who it is. There are that many people going in and out of football clubs that you just don’t know who it could be. It’s pretty worrying.”
It remains to be seen how much truth there is into this leak and if there is what type of impact it will have on Celtic’s summer transfer plans moving forward.
The Glasgow giants have dominated Scotland’s domestic scene for some while now and next season they will be chasing nine-in-a-row under Neil Lennon.
The current squad at Parkhead belongs to the now departed Brendan Rodgers as Lennon will be very keen to stamp his own authority on the squad.
