Arsenal’s reported interest in Celtic’s Kieran Tierney could go down to the wire with the summer transfer window set to slam shut on August 8.

Kris Boyd has made it clear that Celtic have to sell Kieran Tierney for £20-25 million this summer amid reported interest from Premier League side Arsenal.
The former Premiership forward stated that despite Crystal Palace and Manchester United striking a £50 million deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka [BBC Sport] last month, they won’t be getting that sort of fee for their left-back, as Arsenal try to secure his services.
The Daily Record previously claimed that Tierney won’t force a move through to the London club despite it being likely that Arsenal will return for a third bid.
Speaking to Sky Sports News (17/07/2019 17:30), Boyd shares his thoughts on the current Tierney saga, as he believes Celtic have to part ways with the player.
“When the numbers are getting to the stage of what they’re getting to, I know Celtic will look at the English market and say that players are going for £50 million in Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s case [to Manchester United from Crystal Palace]. But we all know the English market is inflated right now,” Boyd told Sky Sports News.
“When you see Tierney there’s no doubt there’s a talented footballer there. I can’t see Celtic getting anywhere near that type of money [£50m] for him.
“If you are getting towards the £20-25 million then you have got to sell him. Somebody who has come through the academy. Celtic can be proud of what they have done.”

Left-back Tierney has been a key player for Celtic for a number of seasons now, and even though he has struggled with injuries, he is a pivotal part of the Bhoys set-up.
The summer transfer window is set to slam shut on August 8, and the Celtic faithful will be hoping that Tierney is still at Parkhead rather than the Emirates Stadium.
Given the current problems at Arsenal, it wouldn’t be a surprise if they didn’t manage to get a deal over the line for Tierney, who is regarded as one of the best defenders in the Scottish Premiership.
