Kouassi Eboue was given a rare chance last night in the Europa League.

If Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers felt he did Kouassi Eboue a favour last night he couldn’t have been more wrong.
The rarely seen Celtic midfielder started for the club in the Europa League against RB Leipzig.
Eboue may be thankful for the opportunity, but it was also unfair to the 20-year-old.
To succeed, Eboue needed to be put into a position to flourish. Last night was not it.
He has only started one game since August, and played just 18 minutes of football since that match.

To then hold some expectation that Eboue could waltz straight into an already weakened team and star against the fifth ranked team in Germany is totally unrealistic.
It was a thankless task for an out of form midfielder and he was unsurprisingly exposed.
While he picked up some valuable experience, his reputation was hardly enhanced, with the midfielder predictably taking a flurry of criticism on social media.
If you criticise Eboue, you have to criticise Rodgers more so for picking him for a high profile match when he has such little football behind him this season.
