Liverpool talent Harvey Elliott has been hailed as a ‘magician’ by teammate Kostas Tsimikas following the 5-1 win over West Ham United.

The Reds were in clinical form as they advanced into the Carabao Cup semi-finals on Wednesday night.

Where was this attacking brilliance against Manchester United just a few days earlier?

That is a question Liverpool fans will be asking today, but Jurgen Klopp will be delighted with his side racking up a big win.

Dominik Szoboszlai, Cody Gakpo and Mohamed Salah all found the net for Liverpool whilst Curtis Jones bagged a brace – but huge praise has gone to somebody not on the scoresheet…

Kostas Tsimikas hails Liverpool midfielder Harvey Elliott

Klopp decided to hand a start to Harvey Elliott, deploying him on the right flank with Sarah starting on the bench.

Elliott didn’t score and didn’t assist but received massive praise from left back Kostas Tsimikas after the game.

Elliott posted photos of himself on Instagram after the final whistle and Tsimikas simply called him a ‘magician’ having dazzled against West Ham.

Jones, Gakpo, Connor Bradley and Ryan Gravenberch all offered messages to Elliott too with the 20-year-old impressing again.

Elliott was a constant menace against West Ham, taking five shots with two of them on target.

Three key passes, one successful dribble, 75 touches, 51 passes, two accurate crosses and four accurate long balls – this was an influential performance from Elliott.

It’s easy to forget that Elliott is still only 20; he has been around for a while and is still developing his game at Anfield.

We saw Elliott come up with a big moment against Crystal Palace earlier this month, scoring a late winner in a 2-1 Liverpool victory.

These moments are why Tsimikas thinks Elliott is a magician, and we hope to see more of this from the former Fulham talent moving forward.
