On Saturday evening, Wolverhampton Wanderers put in a superb display against Chelsea in the fifth round of the FA Cup.

While the Premier League leaders ultimately came out on top, Wolves deserve all the plaudits that come their way after an impressive home display.

The Championship side gave chances to some of the players who have not featured week in, week out in the league and they did not disappoint, with young defender Kortney Hause delivering a clear message to his manager Paul Lambert.

Hause has been in and out of the Wolves side this season but on Saturday’s evidence he deserves to play ahead of the under-performing Richard Stearman.

The 21-year-old was not fazed by coming up against some of the best attacking players in Europe, holding his own against the likes of Diego Costa, Willian and Eden Hazard.

Even if the Blues ultimately broke Wolves down, Hause did more than enough to earn a starting spot against Birmingham City later this week and it would be a travesty if his form did not relegate Stearman to the bench in the process.
