Everton should seriously consider a move for the exciting winger.

Toffees boss Ronald Koeman has a lot of work to do this summer, if he is to build a squad capable of making a sustained challenge for the Champions League spots next term.

In order to do that, it will be an absolute necessity for the Dutchman to bolster his attacking options during the off-season, both on the flanks and through the middle, in preparation for Romelu Lukaku’s likely exit from Goodison Park.

With this in mind, and interesting option for Everton could be Schalke’s Yevhen Konoplyanka, who is available for the nominal fee of just £10.8 million this summer, according to German media outlet Bild.

The pacey Ukrainian’s direct playing style is exactly what the Toffees need, and his presence amongst the Everton squad next season would undoubtedly offer Koeman with an entirely different option to anything that he currently possesses.

The 27-year-old is most comfortable when deployed in the wide left attacking role, and is renowned for his ability to cut inside before either unleashing a powerful shot at goal or delivering an expert cross into the box.

Konoplyanka would provide fantastic competition for Kevin Mirallas on the left wing, and his addition to the Blues squad would surely help raise the Belgian’s performance levels.

He has unrivalled trickery when in possession of the football, and the manner in which he has bamboozled opposition defences throughout his career would surely equate to a successful Premier League career with Everton.

One potential area of concern for the Toffees, however, is whether the Schalke winger would be able to cope with the physical nature of the English game. Ukrainians are notoriously tough footballers though, so that should not pose a problem, although there is only one way to find out for sure.

And for the price of £10.8 million being quoted, a move for the former Sevilla man seems like a no-brainier for the Merseyside outfit.
