The winger could be exactly what Tottenham Hotspur need and for a knockdown price.

According to a report from German newspaper Bild, Schalke winger Yevhen Konoplyanka is available this summer for just £10.8million and Tottenham Hotspur would be wise to at least consider a move for the 27-year-old.

Spurs are in desperate need of more creativity and quality from wide areas and Konoplyanka certainly knows where the goal is.

His spell in Germany has not gone according to plan, with six goals and two assists in 27 appearances for Schalke last season. However his record at Dnipro was considerably better, with a direct hand (either scoring or creating) in 61 goals in 210 matches.

A versatile player who can operate on either flank, as an attacking midfielder or up front, Konoplyanka was linked with Tottenham back in 2015, with the Telegraph publishing comments from Dnipro president Igor Kolomoyskyi claiming they were in talks with Spurs chairman Daniel Levy regarding a potential deal.

Instead the player moved to Sevilla and then on to Schalke, but he is seemingly available for a knockdown price this summer and Tottenham could do a lot worse than bringing the experienced Ukraine international to North London.

Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will have targets in mind and that particular ship may have sailed, but if Levy does remain interested in the winger, he could get him two years later than originally planned if he is willing meet his reasonable price-tag.
