Burnley secured the Championship title with a 1-0 win over rivals Blackburn on Tuesday night thanks to a goal from Manuel Benson.
It was a special moment for the Clarets to win the league at Ewood Park.
However – as footage shows – Vincent Kompany was not happy with Josh Brownhill after the 90 minutes had ended.
What’s the story?
Well, the £9m Burnley man could be seen parading an inflatable replica of the Championship trophy right in front of some Blackburn fans as he rubbed their faces in it.
Kompany was not happy with Brownhill‘s actions, pushing him away from the scene somewhat aggressively before holding his hand up in apology to the Blackburn supporters.
You can see footage of the moment below.
Of course, Brownhill can be forgiven for getting slightly carried away, as it is a rarity in football to win the league title at the home of your rivals – it is unlikely to ever happen again for Burnley.
Nevertheless, Kompany showed just how classy he is with his response to the Burnley No.8’s teasing of the Blackburn fans, when it would have been very easy for the Belgian to turn a blind eye to it.
Burnley in good Kompany with Vincent at the helm
It is important to be respectful in football whether you win, lose or draw.
We recall Kompany staying out on the Wembley pitch to applaud Wigan Athletic after they beat Manchester City in the FA Cup final back in 2013, and his attitude to situations like that are what made him the player he was.

The 37-year-old is teaching his Burnley side to be humble and gracious even in victory, while his actions towards Brownhill also emit a feeling that there is still plenty of work to do.
Yes, Burnley can enjoy the moment for now, but making a mark on the Premier League is the next step, and Kompany is clearly not letting himself get too carried away just yet.
